Mr Tony Allen   Chairman

Mr Allen was previously Head of Fisons Operations in the USA, following which he was appointed Managing Director of Fisons World–Wide Pharmaceutical Division, based in Loughborough, and was also appointed to Fisons Main Board.

In 1980, he set up a consultancy business providing expert advice on all aspects of pharmaceutical operations and in this role has provided critical support to several international pharmaceutical businesses.

Professor Tony Atkinson   Director

Professor Atkinson was formerly Director of Biotechnology at CAMR and responsible for the microbial biomanufacturing capability of that institute which produced therapeutic proteins for sale in major markets around the globe. More recently he was Chief Scientific Officer of Protherics PLC and is now Non–executive Director of Biofusion PLC and Chairman or a Non–executive Director of a number of biotechnology companies. He is also a visiting Professor in Biotechnology at the Universities of Bath and Bristol

Mr Andrew Stafford–Deitsch   Director

Mr Stafford–Deitsch is an experienced Corporate Finance professional and represents the Stephens Group on Eden Biodesign’s Board.

Dr Peter Cozens   Director

Dr Cozens is a scientifically qualified Commercial Development professional with broad international experience in both the biotechnology and conventional pharmaceutical sectors. He is experienced in all facets of identifying partners, negotiating and managing third party agreements in all major territories to facilitate strategic business expansion.

Dr Cozens is the founder of the European arm of an established San Francisco Bay Area consultancy, ProPharma Partners Inc., which offers a range of commercial and clinical support services to the Biotech and Pharma industries. He previously held senior roles in International Business Development at both Medeva PLC (1991–2000) and Wellcome (1981–1991).

Professor John Caldwell   Director

Professor Caldwell is Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Liverpool, a post he took up in 2002 after holding senior positions in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London. A Biochemical Pharmacologist by training, he has been President of the International Society for the study of Xenobiotics (1994–1995), Sterling-Winthrop Distinguished Professor at the University of Michigan Medical Centre (1995) and in 1998 was elected an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Physicians of London. He sits on numerous national and international governments and industrial advisory committees, including the UK Committee on Safety of Medicines. Professor Caldwell has authored and co–authored over 500 scientific publications, including ten edited books.
