Collaboration
Collaboration Offers A Powerful Combination
of High Productivity Cell Line Development and cGMP Production Services

USA June 17, 2009 – Eden Biodesign Ltd. and Selexis SA
today jointly announced their continued collaboration via a joint-marketing
partnership, which will provide global biopharmaceutical companies easy
access to their highly complementary services, and the opportunity to
drastically reduce timelines and risk for development of monoclonal antibodies
and recombinant proteins derived from mammalian cell culture.
Eden Biodesign is UK- and USA-based, globally-integrated provider of biopharmaceutical
and vaccine process development and cGMP manufacturing services. The company’s
clients also benefit from a range of consultancy services.
Selexis SA is a Swiss-based and USA-based biotechnology company that offers
technologies and services for the rapid development of high-performance,
stable mammalian cell lines.
Working with global clients, Selexis offers contract development and maintenance
of high-performance mammalian cell lines used in the expression of pharmaceutically
relevant proteins (i.e. membrane receptors, MAbs, plasma proteins, rProteins
in general). The company's technology platform is based on a combination
of Intellectual Property (Genetic Elements and transfection procedures)
and Know-how (mammalian cell culturing and mammalian cell line screening)
around the generation of stable and high producing mammalian cells. Using
the Selexis SURE Cell Line Development Platform, the Selexis team offers
unmatched speed in the generation of high producing cell lines (5 weeks).
Also working on a global scale, Eden Biodesign offers consultancy and
a comprehensive range of biopharmaceutical design, process development
and cGMP manufacturing services.
The companies have an established track record of collaboration on a number
of client projects. This experience allows new clients to access Selexis’
capabilities for development of highly productive, stable mammalian cell
lines before transferring candidates or mini-pools to Eden Biodesign for
further screening and selection, process development, and cGMP production.
The companies have demonstrated success in working together to significantly
accelerate “time to clinic.” The collaboration will be marketed
on a global scale by the joint efforts of the companies.
